Kampala, Uganda — A wave of excitement and unity swept through the Liberian diaspora community in East Africa as the 5th Inauguration Ceremony of the Liberian Community in Uganda unfolded in grand style. The milestone event brought together delegates and leaders from across the region, including Rwanda, Kenya, and Tanzania, to celebrate shared identity, achievements, and the renewed vision for diaspora collaboration.

The ceremony highlighted the installation of Mr. Emmanuel Brown as Chairman for a second term, following a successful and impactful first tenure. In his inaugural speech, Chairman Brown declared, “I am proud of the achievements we have had together and promise to maintain the unity we have all fought for.” His words were met with warm applause and a renewed commitment to collective progress.

Representing the Liberian Community in Rwanda (LIBCOR), Chairman Emmanuel Patrick praised the event’s high level of organization and unity. “We are excited to join our brothers and sisters in Uganda for this celebration of our identity and community,” he said. “It is a fantastic opportunity for us to connect, share our experiences, and further unify our efforts in strengthening the Liberian diaspora in the East African region.”

Chairman Patrick further emphasized the importance of continental recognition, noting, “The Liberian Diaspora Community is not only in the USA, but also everywhere—and there is a need for recognition.” He urged all Liberians living in East Africa to “stand together and speak with one voice.”

Delegates from Rwanda expressed their commitment to learning, networking, and bringing back innovative ideas to strengthen initiatives at home. The event, filled with cultural pride and collaborative spirit, not only honored leadership but also reignited a shared vision for a united and empowered diaspora.

With the tone set for regional unity and growth, the 5th Inauguration of the Association of Liberians in Uganda stands as a powerful reminder of what Liberians can achieve when they connect across borders—celebrating their roots while building a stronger, united diaspora.
