LIBCOR Appoints Sports Committee to Promote Unity and Networking

[Kigali, Rwanda - April 5, 2025] — In a strategic move to strengthen unity, enhance physical wellness, and foster positive engagement among its members, the leadership of the Liberian Community in Rwanda (LIBCOR) has officially established a Sports Committee under Order Number 005, signed on April 4, 2025, by the Community Chairman, Mr. Emmanuel Patrick.
This newly formed Ad Hoc Committee is tasked with spearheading the planning and execution of sporting activities across LIBCOR’s chapters. Sports disciplines such as soccer, kickball and basketball will be prioritized, with the committee set to organize inter-chapter competitions and other inclusive athletic events.
“The establishment of the Sports Committee demonstrates our commitment to a more vibrant, united, and health-conscious community,” said Chairman Patrick. “Sports have the power to
bring people together, encourage teamwork, and offer our youth a productive way to engage.”
Appointed Members of the Sports Committee:
• Mr. Leroy Titus Kaysaynee – Chairperson
• Mr. Akin Johnson – Vice Chairperson
• Mr. Sam Peace Newman – Secretary
• Mr. Isidore D. Kieh– Member
• Mr. William C. Toe– Member
• Mr. Christian Lewis Suah– Member
• Mr. Clinton R. Woodson– Member
• Mr. Roujee Emmanuel Yarpah– Member
• Mr. George M. Gibson– Member
Key Functions of the Committee Include:
• Organizing football, kickball, and other sporting events across the eight chapters.
• Promoting sports participation and youth engagement.
• Collaborating with Rwandan sports institutions and other diaspora communities.
• Mobilizing support and resources for sports equipment and event logistics.
• Coordinating recognition and awards in partnership with the Programs and Planning
Committee.
The Sports Committee will function for an initial period of six (6) months, with the possibility of renewal. It will report quarterly on progress through the Vice Chairperson for Administration
and Financial Secretary, in line with community statute requirements.
LIBCOR invites community members, partners, and sports lovers to rally behind this initiative by offering both moral and financial support, and to join in celebrating the values of teamwork and unity that sports promote.
